16Get noticed and go green

Can you be eco friendly and still make a good impression?

So, you want to get your name out there and build up your company’s profile, but you don’t want to waste lots of resources in the process… what can you do? Well, it is possible to get your name out there with great-looking publicity, whilst still keeping your green credentials intact – you just need to know how.

First of all, you need to decide ‘how green do you want to be’. If it really is the be all and end all of your business model and you have to ‘be seen to be green’, then you need to concentrate your attention on a digital approach, with a ‘real’ campaign that is sharply focused to reduce any waste.

This could mean using advertising banners on websites that are popular with your target demographic to help build up a profile, whilst buying a list of potential customers’ email addresses would mean you can get your message directly into people’s inboxes.

REACHING OUT FOR NEW BUSINESS

But you do still need a ‘physical’ presence to help build a foundation for your business. But what’s the best way of doing that whilst still ‘being green’?

At STORM, we know a lot of our customers have one eye on reaching out for new business, whilst keeping the other firmly on maintaining their green image. And it’s certainly no good touting yourself as a tuned-in, modern company without considering how it would look if the streets were awash with your latest flyer or magazine.

First of all, you need to target this physical marketing. Do you want to hit people ‘on the street’ or in their homes? How can you make sure people actually take the next step and read what they receive?

STREAMLINE YOUR MARKETING

We will work with you to ensure there’s minimal waste, whilst you still hit all the right people and get them interested in you and your product. We will streamline your marketing to make sure it is effective without flooding the market and burning bridges in the process.

In addition, this careful planning will help reduce your costs and make the marketing process much more efficient.

However, perhaps the most important step is to think about what sort of paper stock your marketing material is printed on… surely recycled is the best to go for if you want to be green?

CONTINGENCY FOR THE FUTURE

You might think so, but in actual fact recycled paper is often an expensive method that doesn’t really help the environment as much as you’d think. Of course resources are saved, but there’s no proactive aspect to this approach. But there is another way to be green and to help lay down some contingency for the future – that’s ‘paper from a sustainable source’.

But what’s the difference? Well, by using this kind of paper, you will be helping forests to grow, with several trees replanted for every one used. This is clearly a much better approach, encouraging responsible supply of resources and helping maintain them for future generations.

Best of all, this paper stands head and shoulders above its recycled counterparts. Recycled paper is not good for producing great looking marketing material, it doesn’t have that quality feel and it can also be very expensive in comparison. By choosing ‘paper from a sustainable source’ you’re getting the best of both worlds – something that looks fantastic and that doesn’t cost the earth.

So, if you’re looking to promote your business’ green credentials, STORM can help you head in the right direction.
